Abstract Call

Call for Abstracts to present at the Thriving Women 2020 Conference

Overview
In hosting the TW2020 conference, WoTL Ltd will bring together women, supported by influential men, to address the business needs, issues and opportunities for women and to develop strategies for building resilient communities.

The stimulating and supportive environment of Thriving Women 2020:
  • builds the capacity and confidence of emerging women leaders to take on influential and decision-making roles
  • encourages the development of networks to share a common passion for primary production
  • increases awareness, understanding and opportunities of the diverse roles of women in the agricultural sector
  • fosters participation in programs and awards that recognise the contribution and potential of women
  • raises the profile of agribusiness and the contribution being made by women towards a prosperous sustainable future for agriculture in South Australia.

We are excited about delivering a conference to attract and engage agri-women across Australia and are currently looking for presenters across a range of topics to fill a dynamic and engaging conference program.

3 Step Abstract Submission Plan

1. Select Your Presentation Topic
The 2020 Conference will have four key focus areas, to explore the following topics in a changing environment…
  • Women’s voices
  • Doing Business
  • Looking after yourself
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurs

2. Select Your Presentation Type
The availability of presentations is largely based around “Toolbox Talks” - the idea being that whilst the audience is presented content they are also given something to add to their “tool box” to take home and put into practice – a new skill, a plan, new information…..

We imagine this could fit into one of the following format options:
  • an interactive workshop – where content is presented and participants are given activities to complete skills learnt and with key messages to takeaway
  • a camp fire session - traditional presentation followed by generous time where the presenter facilitates a discussion with the audience inviting comments, insights and questions from the room
  • a traditional presentation with a small number of Q&A at the completion of the presentation
  • other – got a great idea for a session? – we are open to ideas – pitch us your format and content and we’ll consider it!

3. Prepare Your Documentation
Make sure you include:
  • your name and contact details
  • presentation title (15-word limit)
  • your biography (100-word limit)
  • details of any co-presenters and their biographies
  • your abstract/description of presentation (300-word limit)
  • details of your previous presentation experience
  • three key learnings your presentation will deliver/demonstrate
  • a photo of yourself that you approve for publication (.jpg preferred)

  • Abstracts/presentations will be reviewed by the Program Selection Committee.
  • The Program Selection Committee may contact applicants to negotiate the content and/or format of the proposed presentation.
